Good afternoon families! Hard to believe we have reached June already! Just few short weeks until the end of the year!

PTO Update
We are excited to have one last Dining for a Cause night! G’s Southern Texas Flare has us confirmed for Tuesday June 20th from 4:00-9:00. We are working on a flyer to present when you go. We are also looking to assemble some raffle baskets that diners can purchase tickets for. Raffle basket items can be for both kids and for adults. Think of themes: Movie Night, Game night, BBQ fun, Date night, etc!
Warmer Weather Days
This time of year is always a rollercoaster of temperatures. Just look at the difference between Friday and Saturday! A few reminders:
Please make sure on hot days, students bring a water bottle that they can refill. We only have bottle filling stations and we do have some cups for students who do not have a bottle. As you can imagine, this means many trips out of the room and spills as cups can only hold so much.
We ask that students refrain from wearing clothing that exposes their belly. This is detailed in the student handbook.
ALICE Drills
Throughout the month of June, in conjunction with our community safety agencies, Haverhill Public Schools will be conducting A.L.I.C.E. drills in each of our buildings. For more information about A.L.I.C.E., please read the Frequently Asked Question below. Further information is available at: https://www.alicetraining.com/ and https://archive.haverhill-ps.org/security/k-6-alice-training-information/.
From the perspective of the students, this will seem like a simulation exercise of having a real threat in the building. Similar to fire drills, we are not able to share the exact date of each A.L.I.C.E. drill in advance, however, the school will inform families following each drill.
Please understand the successful implementation of A.L.I.C.E. throughout our school community is essential for the safety and well-being of our students and staff. To better prepare for any of these events, our staff and students should be trained in what to expect and how to react. Our goal of A.L.I.C.E. training is to replace fear and hopelessness during emergencies with preparation and readiness in the face of adverse circumstances.
Again please be reassured, we are conducting these drills as part of our yearly A.L.I.C.E. training where our students and staff practice evacuating the school building to better prepare them for various emergency scenarios.
